Wellington senior matches resulted as follows Central B beat East Bby 60 runs; East A beat North by 99 runs; Central A beat South by 50 runs; College beat Hutfc by 100 runs. Christchurch, Saturday. St, Albans in their first innings made 271 and scored 87 for two wickets in their second innings. Riccarton made 230. Linwood again outplayed Sydenham, beating them by 112 on the first innings. They narrowly missed a threepoint win, the last two Sydenham men being in when time was called. Linwood in their first innings made 171 and 198 for three wickets in their second innings. Sydenham made 80 and 142. Auckland, Sunday. The cricket season opened yesterday in fairly fine weather. Light showers of rain which fell did not interfere with play, but the wickets were dead as the result of rain during the week. The senior grade matches resulted as follow: Ponsonbv v. Grafton: Ponsonby, first innings, 79 (Mason four wickets for 18 and Shacklock three for 23). Grafton. S3 for four wickets. Parnell v. Eden: Parnell, first innings, 218 for 7 wickets (_oliff 47, Caro 47, and Sale 39). University v. North Shore: University, first innings. 100 (Wallace 57 not out). Howden took five wickets for 15 runs. North Short, first innings, 70. Taylor took ■five wickets for 35, Fenwick four for 27.
