At the Magistrate's Court at Motueka to-day the landlord of the Motueka Ho--3 tel was charged, on the information of 3 the captain of the Salvation Army, with 1 assault. The cirtaunstances were that ins formatit went into the bar of the hotel - for the purpose of takrng up a collection, ; and, when requested to leave, did not j do so as expeditiously as the landlord - desired, so the latter ejected him. The ,• Magistrate held that informant had no 3 right to go into the hotel canvassing 3 for collections, and on not leaving im- - mediately when requested to do so, the 5 landlord was justified in ejecting him, f provided no unnecessary force was used.
