MOA ROAD BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Moa Road Board, was held at Inglewoocl on Saturday. There were present: Messrs Trimble (chairman), A. Corkill, Lawrence, Bishop, j. 'Williams. J. W. Coll in;: wood, F. J. Virgin, R. T. Williams and Anderson. TREASURER'S STATEMENT. The treasurer's statement showed that reecipts for the month amounted to £4O Wh (id, and .expenditure to £Ol 7s Sd. The bank balance showed a credit to the General account of £197 i)s 7d and loan account £7 10s !kl. NORFOLK ROAD SPECIAL RATE, A petition was received from 18 settlers on Norfolk road west asking that a halfpenny special rat?, be raised over the Norfolk west special rating area for the purpose of repairing the road. —The matter wlill be dealt with at next meeting. FOREMEN'S REPORTS. Foreman Jones reported that he had laid 21- two-foot pipes on the Durham road east. A ditch 35 chains long on Norfolk east road near Mr. Harding's was very full and would cost about 4s a chain to cb.au. It was, however, doing the road no harm, having been the same for years. There was scarcely any traffic down there excepting cattle-driving. Some of the s.ttlers thought the money would be better spent on the portion of the-road they used. Dudley west required l/D or 7D yards of metal for repairs and the Kaipi road required -'>() yards. The King, llursthousc and Windsor roads required attention, l'igs had been doing damage on the I'pbuul road, hut he could not ascertain the owner. He also complained of the nuisance caused bv a settler topping his pine trees and leaving the trimmings on the road, to the detriment of water-tables, etc.— It was decided to write and request the settler to at once remove the pine tops. ("IEXERAL. H wis resolved that the separate road accounts of the Redford and Derby roads be closed and that the balance now standing to their credit be allotted between th? Surrey road and Norfolk road west. The chairman intimated that through some sections abutting on the main road hcin:.' subdivided the amount accruing to the bridge fund would be £45 and not £25 as was thought. It was resolved that one-fourth of the cost of lephu'ing the culvert mar Drake's on Durham road cast and of making the tunnel and filling on Toetoe road be charged to the bridge fund, in accordance with the resolution dealing with that fund. The whole Board was appointed a committee to go into the question of quantities of stone required for the ensuing rear, with a yknv to calling tenders for same next meeting. Accounts to the amount of £74 I3s were passed for payment.
