MALINGERER SENTENCED.
AX UNUSUAL CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Duneilin, Lust Night. George Edward Smith, a prisoner serving four years' imprisonment, who hda been before the Court on a charge of malingering, was summarily <iealt witn by Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., this afternoon. The prisoner pretended to be totally blind in one eve and partially blind in the other, but" the evidence of Dr. Lindo Ferguson and Dr. Stcnhouse showed that he was merely malingering. He said, amongst other things, that he had had the eaehrymal gland removed, which Dr. Stenhouse said was false. 'Mr. Bartholomew sentenced him to be put on bread and water for seven days j and to forfeit 7:20 mark*, which practically means that lie will serve three months longer that he would have done if good conduct had earned him the usual con--1 cession. i =—=-
