Mr. Richard Ballinger, Secretary of the Interior, was slightly injured in a train wreck at ;Baltimore, Ohio. STORM CAUSES 'MUCH DAMAGE. New York, October 14. A storm in Florida and Cuba did much damage. THE LOS ANGELES OUTRAGE. New York, October 14. The National Association of Manufacturers of-New York condemned the International Typographical Union as responsible for the Los Angeles dynamiting outrage. ALLEGED HUGE FRAUDS. New York, October 14. Duveen Brothers, the well-known New York art dealers, have been arrested, one aboard the Lusitania and the other in his office in Fifth Avenue. They are charged with huge frauds in the Customs, involving £200,000. They were released on bail of £IO,OOO. The alleged frauds extend over a number of years.
CONTROL OF COALFIELDS. New York, October 14. Senator Bevevidge and Mr. Roosevelt, sp?aking at Richmond (Indiana) said their aim in Alaska was to control the coalfields development so that all the profits would not go to the enormously wealthy men in New York and Colorado. RAISING THE MAINE. New York, October 14. President Taft approves of the plans for the immediate raising of the Maine, sunk in the port of Havana (Cuba) and responsible in a great measure for the starting of the Spanish-American war.
