The Vienna correspondent of the Morning Post understands that the report of the members of Austrian Chambers of Commerce, sent to England to enquire into frozen meats, favor unrestricted importation. DEMONSTRATIONS IN AUSTRIA. Vienna, October 11<. Demonstrations are being held in all Austrian towns against the high price of food. Four thousand people paraded at St. Poelten. PUSHING AUSTRALIAN MEAT. ON THE CONTINENT. Received 13, 1.15 a.m. London, October 12. Sir George Reird approached the Colonial Office with a view to the Ambassador at Vienna supporting his offer to pay the carriage on a trial shipment of meat; also urging the feasibility of veterinary surgeons, who are going to the Argentine, extending the journey to Australia. As Argentine meat is alone mentioned on the Continent in connection with the high-price campaign, Sir George Reid is preparing and circulating a booklet for the Continent, descriptive of Australian frozen meat, with London prices translated into French, German, Austrian and Italian.
