DEFYING THE COURT.

NODINE GOES TO GAOL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. A motion for a writ, of attachment against Charles Nodine, tailor, came before Mr. Justice Edwards and Mr. Justice Cooper this morning. A week ago the Court issued a writ on finding that Nodine had refused to sign the lease of Hannah's premises as ordered by the Court, and seven days were allowed Nodine in which to comply. The lease was not signed, and as Nodine still refused to sign it, the Court, after administering a severe rebuke, ordered him to be committed to gaol for three calendar months. At the end of that period, if the lease, is not signed iby" Nodine, the Court can order it to be signed by another person on his behalf, and he will then be still liable for the rent.
