NEW PLYMOUTH OPERATIC SOCIETY. The New Plymouth Amateur Operatic Society has for some time past been actively engaged in rehearsal of Alfred Cellier's charming comedy opera. "Dorothy." Members are highly enthusiastic m their work, and by the time the short season, commencing November 4, arrives it is anticipated they will ha.ve thoroughly mastered the operaMuch trouble has been taken in the selection of both principals and members of the chorus, and special attention has been given to adequate stage lighting and calcium effects. The opera will he lavishly dressed, the costumes being patterned on those which hare aasasted to make the traditional "Dorothy" bo eweet and wholesome a memory. No pains will be spared to make the production of the opera a musical and artistic success. The box plans will be open at Collier's on Thursday, October 27.
