ROTORUA-GISBORNE RAILWAY
■DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation representing the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce and Rotorua Railway League was introduced to the Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. McKenzie) by Mr. Macdonald, M.P., yesterday, to urge the pushing on of the Ro-torua-Gisborne railway. ■ After hearing argument, the Minister replied that everyone recognised there would 1 'have to be a connection between Rotorua and Oisborne, but its construction would be a matter of time. Probably £150,000 would be spent on the line thiis year, and at that rate it would take 14 or 15 years to complete the work, which would cost at least £1,500,000.
