DISTRICT NEWS.
I KORITO, (From Our Own Correspondent.) . On Wednesday last Mr. C. Allen,, of this district, was married to Miss L. Simons, of Tariki: During the, day someone, no doub r t lacking jn tie ', uppei; storey, broke into Mr. Allen's jnouse and interfered with some of the. furniture and household effects, sonje, being, damjaged. It is about time something, was done to show up the culprits before they jgo too far. There are. a few irresponsibles about here who, if not. very careful, will soon find themselves,, doing, time in the Government boarding-house. In the evening the tin -ketttfng band turned out Two o:- three, of them acted in a very unruly way,,but the majority seemed to enjoy themselves. One very amusing event, which, wou'd have made a good comic picture, was when one of the besieging band scaled the roof to block the chimney. He was heard by the inside party, and was quickly pulled down by the legs, to the amusement of all. Finally all were regaled with the good things provided by the bridal party, and before leaving j the kettlers gave three ringing cheers i for the bride and bridgegroom, and left singing "For he's a jolly good fellow." The weather for the past few days has been almost perfect, and grass, crops and gardens are looking splendidly. The annual meeting of tihe Mangorei Dairy Company takes place on Monday. The balance-sheets were circulated at the creamery about a week ago, and the suppliers appear to be satisfied with the results of the year.
