A CASE OF ''" SQUATTING." 'Bv Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Friday. A case of "squatting" on the part of a son of the Emerald Isle was reported s to the Auckland Land Board at its meeting to-day. The settler in question has located himself without title of any kind upon a section for the past two and a-half years. He has made part of it into a pig run, whilst he has ploughed i and sown about 2% acres in grass, and lie haa also fenced the land and built a small cottage. Applying for a lease, he was informed that he was liable to a fine of £SO for trespassing upon Crown land's. Hist reply to this was that he wished to take up the land in order to secure 'his improvements. It was decided to defer the application until the receipt of the rangers' report, and that in the meantime the industrious "trespasser" be warned to cease making improvements upon the land. - ..
