The Stratford addition would be ready for occupation when the sdhool re-opened after tihe holidays, /.t the Tarata residence the contractor wu being urged on as much as possible, and ihe would; finish everything except internal painting before the end of the present week. Thia painter was sending oat a full staff at once, and the re«deru« would ibe ready for occupation in about a fortnight.—The report was adopted. FINANCE COMMITTEE. The Finance Committeo made redone mendations concerning small matter* at Cardiff, Huiakama, Oeo, Whang&ioumona, Frank ley, Waihi, Bird, Waio-iigoua, JJatau, Stratford, Kaimaita and Durh/ttn. The committee also recommended that application be made to the Clifton County Council to make a crossing at Okau school; that wash-houses and bathrooms ibe fitted up at Tututawa, Tataraknaka, Manga'hume, Kaiinata and Koru, if sanctioned by the Department; and bathrooms only at Cardiff, Ratapiko, Maioe, Midhirat, and at Huirmigi a wash-4iouse only; toat the repairs required at Huirangi residence (estimated cost £l6) be proceeded with. It was decided that the overseer be instructed to proceed with the erection of the new school at Whangomomona. The request of tihe Stratford Committee that they should be notified of the dates of tihe truant officer's intended visits, and that he confer with them, was referred to tihe chairman to report upon.
