MUNICIPAL POLL. By • Telegraph.—Press Association. * Gore, Last Night. To-<lay a poll was taken on a proposal to raise £7OOO under tihe Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, for supplying the Borough of ilataura with water and providing a drainage scheme. The poll was carried by a majority of seven votes. EARTHQUAKE SHOCK. Maaterton, La«t Night. A very pronounced earthquake shock was experienced at Masterton and throughout the district at 2.35 p.m. today.
A CHRISTCHURCH TOWN HALL.
Christahurch, Last Night. Th'e Oiity Oouncil to-night resolved to call for designs for a town hall, to cost £60,000 and to seat 3000 people. The premiums offered are £250 and £IOO, and the design must be in bv January 10, 1911, J J
