CELEBRATIONS IX SYDNEY. Uy Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright Received September 26, 0.25 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. The New Zealand Government Bureau was gay with. ibunting in honor of Dominion Day. The Union Company's and the Bud-dant-Parker Company's fleets and premises were decorated) with flags and devices, including one "Success to the Dominion." The New Zealand Association's ball was langiefly attended, the Hon. Geo. Fowlds and party being amongst ths guests. AT PALMERSTON NORTH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Nigihit. Dominion Day was celebrated to-day by -the public offices being closed. In the evening a procession was held, at which 401 cadets and volunteers were present.. The Palmerston Brass Band iheadfed the troops, which marched roamd the Square twice, then halted in front of a staging erected in the vicinity of | the band rotunda. Here a military tableau was displayed with colored' light effects, and patriotic speeches were delivered b.y Messrs. D. Buick, M.P., J. A. Nash (Mayor) and R. McNab. The proceedings closed with the playing of "God Save tihe King." Mr. McNab took the opportunity of referring to the greater political developments of tihe Empire, the growth of big nations in Australia and Canada, and the wonderful spectacle of victors and vanquished in Smith Africa forming a united nation only ten years after they had been at war. IN THE NELSON DISTRICT. Nelson, Last Night. All the school children of the city assembledl and! saluted the flog this morning'. In the afternoon a battalion parade of the school cadets took place. At Richmond this evening a public gathering to celebrate Dominion Day wiaa held, there being a large muster of territorials and citizens, several speeches being delivered. AT WELLINGTON. Wellington, Last Night. In further celebration of Dominion Day a public reception was held in the Driil Hall to-night. The building was packed by about 2000 people. Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., Mayor of the city, presided. Patriotic speeches were delivered by the ■Mayor, tihe Prime Minister and the Governor. Thie volunteers and Boy Scouts turned out in force, and held a military demonstration on the Basin Reserve under electric lights. Many thousands of people turned out to witness the interesting andi rather novel display. The proceedings through the day and evening I were favored by perfect weather, and were marked by general enthusiasm. AT WANGANUL Wanganui| Last Night. Dominion Day was celebrated very quietly, only the Government offices closing. To-night a military tatoo was held. AT GISBORNE. Gisbome, Last Night. Dominion Day was celebrated 'here this morning by the school children saluting the colors, and addresses by different .speakers. In thie evening a military parade was held'. The troops marched through the streets, headed by tihe band. AT DUNEDIN. Dunedin, Last Night. Splendid weather prevailed for Dominion Day, but, with the exception of some of the Government offices, the day was not generally observed as a holiday. Bunlting was liberally displayed on the public and private buildings. A parade of volunteers was held this evening, and was largely attended.
