The League of Employers in the metal industry decided to support the shipbuilders by locking out 60 per cent, of their employees on October 8 unless the shipbuilding dispute is settled. It is stated that 420,000 will be affected. THE SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE. Sydney, September 23. ■ Tie president of the Slaughtermen's Union states that many butchering Anna would kill, but the carcase butchers ■who have leased the abattoirs will not allow this.
