Mrs. Bellamy Storrer, wife of a former Ambassador of Austria-Hungary, writes to the "American" enclosing copies of private letters from Archbishop Ireland, of St. Paul, Minnesota, wheinin Mr. Roosevelt, when President, vuthorised the Ambassador to interview He Pope and to ask for a cardinalate lor Archbishop Ireland as a personal to Mr. Roosevelt. The Ani'bassador wasremoved by Mr. Roosevelt in 1903, alter Mrs. Storrer had been request! to ;>nstain from interference in Vatican politics.
