ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A CHILD DROWNED. A sad fatality occurred at Inglewood on Saturday. The infant and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Alleman, residing on the Windsor road, left for only a few minutes to itself, crawled outside the house to where a bath was standing with only a few inches of water in it. The little one, which was only eleven, months old, must hav£ drawn itself up by the side of- the bath, and then (overbalanced itself, for when Mrs. Alleman came out the child was lying with its face downward in the water. Medical aid was summoned, but all efforts to restore animation failed. The parents have the sympathy of a very wide circle of friends in their sudden affliction. DEATH FROM A CALF'S KICK. Gisboirne, Saturday. Mr. A. P. Durrant, clerk of Waiapu County Council, was kicked in the stomach a few days ago whilst branding a calf. Internal complications ensued, from which he died.
