FEDERATION OF LABOUR
MEETING OP MINERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Westport, Last Night. A large meeting of miners was held to-night at Burnett's Face, when an address was delivered by Mr. Semple, organiser of the N.Z. Federation of Labor, the attitude of the meeting being one of deep resentment against the unwarranted attack made by the press of New Zealand on the attitude of the Federation at the conference recently held in Wellington. After discussion, the following resolution was carried unanimously: "That we members of the Dennißton branch of the N.Z. Federation of Labor, avail ourselves of this opportunity of expressing our entire confidence in the Federation as being the only true class conscious of labor in the Dominion, and that we also take this opportunity of whole-hearted-ly endorsing the manifesto issued by th* Conference at its recent sitting, and as a practical test of our. confidence in the N.Z.F.A. we vote the executive • £4oo' to aid in establishing a weekly paper devoted entirely to the interests of our class—the working class."
