Mr. J. B. Hine, M.P., was in town yesterday. A Wanganui telegram states that Mrs. Watt, wife of Lieut.-Col. John P. Watt, died yesterday atternoon, aged 62 years.
A Sydney cablegram states that ArchPriest Sheehy, aged 83, for many years Yicar-general to Archbishop Poidiug, is dead.
Messrs. J. C. Morey and G. Kamson, who have been on a tour of the world, return home this morning. They are to be accorded a welcome at eleven o'clock by their friends. Mr. Richard Barber, a very old resident of Wellington, died yesterday. Deceassd was a brother of the late Messrs. Jas Henry and Edward Barber, who carried on an extensive butchering business in Wellington for many years. He has left a widow and a grown up family. He was 70 years of age.—Press wire.
