FAMILY'S NARROW ESCAPE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A five-roomed wooden house at Kingsland, owned and occupied by Mr. Esmond Tyne, grocer, was destroyed by fire at an early hour this morning. The fire was discovered by Mrs. Tyne, who was awakened by a loud npise caused by the iback portion of the building falling in. The flames were then creeping into the room where her husband, herself and child were sleeping. She immediately awoke her husband, and they had only time to escape in their night attire. The house,.which was valued at £450, was insured for £OOO in the Commercial Union Office, while the furniture, valued at £l5O, which was all destroyed, was insured: for £SO in the South British Office.
