EXCEPTIONAL WARM RELATIONS.

The commandant of the French cruiser Lavoisier, entertaining the Lord Mayor of Dublin, after the civic welcome of the previous day, enquired as to the cause of the people's exceptional warmth towards French visitors. The Lord Mayor explained that the Irish cherished the kindliest feelings towards their Gaelic brethren, bearing in grateful remembrance the help the Frenchmen rendered to Ireland formerly in times of necessity.
