KING CONGRATULATES CANADIANS,

Earl Grey, Governor-General, received from the King the following: "I have had the pleasure of receiving to-day, at Balmoral a representative detachment of the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, and of hearing about the successful work at the manoeuvres. The spirit thus shown by the Dominion is a good augury of the future of the Imperial Army.—George." A GOOD EXAMPLE. Received September 13, 10.-16 p.m. London, September 13. "When inspecting the detachment at Balmoral the King said he trusted the good example shown by Canadian soldiers in participating in manoeuvres in the Motherland would ibe followed by many regiments from other dominions in future.
