BUSINESS NOTICES.
*W* "Islington House," Sawera, has been thoroughly renovated throughout, and sixteen large bedrooms added, with a fine balcony on three sides of the house. The rooms are large and airy, and are beautifully fitted up, the furniture being of a new and quaint design. The sitting-rooms are elaborately furnished, and electric light is fitted all over the house. One cannot do better than pay Mrs. May's "Islington House" a visit when in Hawera. All intending competitors are notified that to-day is the last day for sending in their productions for C. Carter's Golden Gift Tea competition. Ten shillings is offered for the best eight lines of poetry. 'For particulars, see advertisement. The Melbourne's great celebration sale is not a' sale for a day, not a mere Hash in the pan, but an event of a month making good in all departments. It's simpler to do business this way, and it succeeds as well. How laughable to watch the tactics of those who think that hj announcing a "sale" they can deceive the public! White and Sons have now opened a large quantity of their new season's shipments ex Turakina. Others per Athenic are expected to-day, so that already their store begins to wear a spring appearance. Quite a feature of the dresses are some spot shantungs in all the new shades of amethyst, greans, and rose. These are only Is Od per yard.—Advt. We stock the best, and sell for cash. Why do you pay Is and Is 3d for sash ribbons when we can sell you- the same thing for 6d a yard. Our store is opposite Carnegie Library, King street. New Plymouth, and is specially noted for twopenny embroideries.
