NEW COALFIELD IN LINCOLN
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT BY A GEOLOGIST. j By Cable.—Press Association— Copyright] London, September 7. Sneaking before the British Association Conference at Sheffield, Professor P P. Kendall, Professor of Geology at Leeds University, announced the discovery of an important coalfield at Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, representing a new basin, not an extension of the Yorkshire fields. He said he did not think the seams extended under the North Sea, but believes great fenland depression marks the termination of the south-eastern | boundary of the field.
