THE BOILERMAKERS. DISSATISFACTION AMONG UNIONISTS. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright London, September 8. Branch meetings of boilermakers indicate that there is growing dissatisfaction in the ranks. Many speakers opposed granting the executive full powers until the issue had been clearly stated. Received September 9, 11.5 p.m. London, September 9. Much anxiety is felt amongst the boilermakers regarding the idle benefit pay. One branch begins payment to-day. It is believed that the ballot at Hartlepool will be strongly against a guarantee being given by employers. Some lodges demand that the executive shall not negotiate until the lockout is withdrawn. The Birkenhead, ballot went solid for resumption. PERTH STRIKE ENDED. Perth, September 9. «PJ>ne tram strike has been settled. The Premier and Leader of the Opposition -have arranged a compromise. A full service will start to-day. The terms of settlement have not been disclosed.

A SLAUGHTERING AGREEMENT. Received September 9, 8.40 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. The Slaughtermen's Union accepted the agreement with the Pastoral Finance Company. The agreement is, similar to Birt's two contracts, and will absorb about a hundred' slaughtermen.

v DnSSENTION WITHIN. Received September 10, 12.5 a.m. London, September 9. Tn connection with the South Wales mining trouble, 35 pits, employing 35,000 men, have given notice to cease working at the end of the month. The crisis is less a conflict between workers and employers than a Tevolt of a larpe proportion of the colliers against the nonSocialist policy hitherto pursued by the South Miners' Federation. The result of the eight hours' agitation enabled' the Socialist agitators to discredit the 'Federation. DISMISSAL OF WOODWORKERS. Received September 9, 11.10 p.m. London, September 9. There have been many furtlier dismissals on the Clyde, chiefly of woodworkers.
