Kaufman at San Francisco outpoint* ed Lang in six rounds in the open air this evening. Lang was never able to evade the straight lefts to the face, and often held on to Kaufman to avoid punishment. He was very tired at the end of the fifth and sixth rounds from the successive lefts and rights to the face and head. Lang missed numerous leads, and when he landed any blows they lacked steam. In the fourth round, Kaufman cut a nasty gash in Lang's forehead, and then landed a hard right on his jaw, distressing the Australian, who clinched' and held. In the fifth and sixth rounds Kaufman severely punished Lang again, staggering him with a right to the head, and forcing him to clinch. Througnout there was much wrestling. There were ten thousand spectator*. Altogether, the fight did not demonstrate that either Lang or Kaufman a worthy opponent for Johnson. AJI BEATEN. From this to the close, Kaufman had his own way.- As a spectacular exhibition it was disappointing. Time and again I*wg- lead with the left and made a rush to clinch, the referee forcing them npnrt. In the fifth round Kaufman drove Lang to the ropee in distress. In the nixth round, Kaufman rushed Lang around the ring, unable'to inflict the knoek-out. Kaufman was not marked, hut Lang's face wae swollen and cut. Kaufman won on points.
