LADIES' <3L^M)NSHIP. By Association. Last Night. The weather was Mi fine to-day for the sixth day's play iriTthe ladies' championship hockey tournament. Wellington A defeated Wellington B, after an uninteresting game, b* 1 goal to nil. The Nelson-Wanganui match ended in a draw, 1 goal each. Nelson had the better of the play throughout, tout were uniaible to break through the defence. Westport put up a good fi,?ht against Taranaki, the latter winning by 2 goals to 1. The Auckland-Wairarapa match was fast and exciting. The latter scored first, and then Auckland found the net. Wairarapa continued to attack and scored again. Towards the end of the game, Auckland, made strenuous efforts to score, and just before time was called a_ splendid goal was shot from just inside the circle. Hawke's Bay had an easv victory over flreymouth by 4 goals to nil. The positions of the tpams are:—Nelson plaved five cnmes, four wins, one draw; Hawke's Bay played six games, five wins, one loss; Wanganui placed five game 9, three wins, two draws. Wairarapa plaved six enmes. three wins, three draws; Auckland played sixwames, three wins, one draw; Otasro plaved five games, three wins; Tnranaki plaved five games, one win, two draws; Wellinsrton A playiyl five «ames, two wins; Wellington B played five <rflmes..won none; Oey plaved five games; two draws; Westport played six games, one draw.
