NEW PLYMOUTH ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Amateur Boxing Association was held last night, Mr. A. Lovegrove presiding. The report and balance-sheet as presented by the secretary were adopted. Officers were elected as follows: (President, Mr. G. Grey; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. B. Webster and C. H. Weston; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. L. Chappell; committee. Messrs. A. Lovegrove, G. Griffiths, J. J. Stagpoole, A. J. Bailey. F. Lovegrove; hon. auditor, Mr. K. Webster. Several new members were elected. It was decided that the subscription for the ensuing year should be ss, and that members' tickets should be issued, such tickets to admit members to tournaments and practice rooms, and to be not transferable. It was decided on the recommendation of the outgoing committee to hold a tournament on the first night of the Taranaki Agricultural Society's spring show in the Drill Hall if possible. This tournament will [be confined principally to novices with one or two special matches. Mr. A. Lovegrove offered to donate four silver medals for ' the tournament, and another enthusiast who desires to remain anonymous offered a gold medal. These offers were accepted and a hearty vote of thanks accorded'the donors. The usual vote of thanks concluded an enthusiastic meeting.
