EDUCATION BOARD.
CONTINUANCE CLASSES. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The Education Board to-night resolved "That this Board desires to. direct the attention of the Minister of Education to the futility of placing compulsory power in reference to continuance classes, solely in the hands of school committees, instead of giving the Board power as an alternative to enforce such a provision." It was also resolved 5 "That this Board desires to protest against the proposed amendment of the Education Act, under which members of boards who receive any moneys from school committees for value given, will be disqualified from membership, although members of school committees themselves are not so disqualified." The Board of Governors to-night appointed Miss Christina M. Cruickshank, M.A.M.Sc., to the position of lady principal of the Wanganui Girls' College. Miss Oruicksliank, who has a particularly fine record., is at present head-mis-tress of the Southland Girls' High School-
