"ALL BROWN" FOOTBALL TEAM. DESIRE TO TOUR BRITAIN. At the last meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union a letter was received from Mr. W. T. Parata, who was manager of the Maori team that recently toured Australia and New Zealand, imfa ference to a proposed British tour by a Maori team. On behalf of the Maori committee Mr. Parata asked the Union to authorise a Maori tour of Great Britain in 1911, to be conducted on purely amateur lines. The team would consist of about twenty-seven players, for the most part members of the Maori team which recently toured Australia and New Zealand. The record of this team on the field proved that its members would be able to hold their own. The behaviour! off the field had been so good that there need be no anxiety in that respect. The committee was approaching leading Maoris and was confident of being abh to finance the tour. The proceeds, apan from the usual expenses, would be de voted to charities or to some worthy object, such as to found a scholarshj" for Maori boys at the universities. 1 was suggested that twenty-eight matche be played, including internationals, an' that the team should go Home by th direct route. With regard to percent ages of gates the committee suggested ; similar arrangement to that made durinj the "All Blacks'" tour and hoped t< get guarantees, especially at. the bi< matches. The Union decided to postpone consid eration of the proposal until its nex meeting.
