The bicentenary of the Anglican Church in Canada was celebrated at Halifax. The first service was held in 1711 at Annapolis as an act of gratitude by British soldiers on the occasion of the surrender of a French commander. The •Primate of Canada officiated, and high dignitaries of Canada, America and Britain were present. Simultaneous ser■vices were held throughout the Dominion. THE KING'S PRAYER BOOK. Received September 5, 12.30 a.m. Ottawa, September 4. The Bishops of Glasgow and London are at Halifax. The latter presented a Prayer Boob as a gift from the King.
