PARLIAMENTARY PARTY "OFF." Mr...Carter, chairman of directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Co., received a wire from Mr. H. Okcy, M.P., on Saturday, stating that members found it impossible to fulfil their engagement to visit Taranaki, except Messrs. Scotft, J. Duncan, and Anderson. These gentlemen will be taken down to the works this afternoon. Any visitors desirous of inspecting the works will be welcomed. Of the Legislative Councillors only one (the Hon. J. Anstey) has been able to make the trip. The Councillors are very busy on committees now in considering and revising legislation introduced and contemplated. The Hon. Oliver Samuel is chairman of the Statutes Revision Committee, which is sitting daily, and ho has been unafole to get away, whilst the Hon. T. Kelly is also sitting daily as a member of the Banking Committee. OPERATIONS AT THE BORES. No. 3 bore is still flowing freely at the rate of 20 barrels a day. No. 2 is "pegging along" with its 20. barrels daily. Good work is being done with inserting the Sin. casing at No. 1 bore, th« country being much easier to work.
