CITIZENS SUBSCRIBE FREELY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A meeting was held to-night to initiate a scheme to raise £SOOO to build a new Boys' Institute on land recently donated for the purpose by a lady whose identity has not been disclosed. His Excellency the Governor and Lady Islington were present, the former presiding. Lord Islington said lie was greatly interested in the scheme. Arrangements were made to canvass the city and to hold a series of entertainments. Mr. iSidney Kirkcaldie will give £loo.if another £9OO is raised in suiiia of not less than £.IOO. Another citizen, whose identity is not disclosed, will give £4OO if the public subscribe £4600. Over £IOOO was subscribed at the meeting to-*ght.
