DECLINE IN COTTON. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright New York, August 31. Cotton in New York has declined 65 points. INDIAN MILLS AFFECTED. MANY TO CLOSE. Received September 2, 12.30 a.m. Bombay, September 1. Owing to the cost of cotton, there is a general depression in the trade. Messrs. Greaves, Cotton and Co., merchants, will close seven mills for which they are agents, on September 31. Seven thousand hands are affected, and it is reported that a dozen other mills will close.
