CLEMENT WRAGGE

EXPLAINS HIS PROPHESIES. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright' Sydney, September 1. Mr. Wragge states that when he mentioned a cyclone of drought for six years he only meant that the rainfall would be below the average, not that it would be so severe as the last dio-.ight. He made the statement as a warning to people to conserve water and to make provisions to minimise the effect of bush fires. He points out that the rainfall has already fallen off. The meteorologist's report shows that during August no rain fell on the south coast, and under ten points in many parts of the State. Sydney had twenty-five points, the second lowest for fifty-two years.
