The Auckland Star learns that important developments in connection with the Huddart-Parker and Co.'s inter-colonial and New Zealand coastal services are under consideration. An improvement in the Auckland-Sydney service is one of the most important of the proposed changes. It is stated that the fine steamer Ulimaroa (5777 tons), now engaged in the Cook's Strait-Sydney trade, will be transferred to the northern running, replacing the Victoria. The Auck-land-Sydney service will then be maintained by the Ulimaroa and the Wimmera. To fill the place of the Ulimaroa in the Cook's Strait trade, the company, it is stated, will employ the Zealandia, the new 6660-ton steamer, which has just entered the Vancouver trade, and which, at the time she was launched, it was reported, was built specially'for the Aus-tralian-New 'Zealand trade. The Victoria, which is the ojjlest of the company's boats engaged in the New Zealand trade, is not to leave these shores, if report speaks correctly. With the adoption of the new scheme she will be permanently engaged in the Dominion, working all ports along the East Coast, and developing trade which has not, so far, been exploited by the Huddart-Parker Co. beyond what their intercolonial boats secured.
