4From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Lust Night. The annual generfil meeting of tho Stratford Racing Club was held last night, k t<he president (Mr. A. W. Bridge) lbein£\in the chair. The report and bal-ance-sheet, -which showed the club to be in a very prosperous condition, having a balance of assets over liabilities of about £4OOO, was adopted as read. The following oifieers were elected:—President, Mr. A. W. Bridge; vice-president, Mr. W. H. Young; auditors, 'Messrs. S. IJ. Jones and L. Reina. The number of Judicial Committee was increased from three to not more than five members. After considerable discussion a motion to reinState trotting events in the programme was carried. A very neat model of the Paritutu is on view at the premises of Messrs. S. Ward and Co., and is attracting considerable attention. i The Stratford Defence Club opens the shooting season to-morrow. The Stratford Horticultural Society 19 holding, a bulb show on September The local branch of the N.Z. Farmers' Union meets to-night.' The directors of the Midhirst Dairy Factory held a meeting to-day to consider the disposal of the season's output.
