BOWLING.
WEST END, CLUB. The work in connection with the West End Bowling Club's greens is now well in hand. The contractor has laid four rinks, and the committee has put on extra labor to do the top dressing, so as not to hinder the contractor with the laying of the remaining half. Members of the Club are now assured of a month's play before Christmas. Intending members who have not isjiven their names to the secretary are asked to do so at once, as a notice of motion has been handed in to make an entrance fee for all those joining after a certain date, it being pointed out that it was riot fair to those who ihave paid the subscription monies months ago, and who have had all the work in connection with the success of the club. It has been decided that the first annual general meeting of the clu!b will be held on Friday, September 30, when a report and balance-sheet will be given. The secretary will be pleased to receive donations of any kind of flowering shrubs for planting round the banks of the green. All members of the elub 'are asked to meet on the grounds to!day (Thursday) at 2 o'clock.
