PETROLEUM NEWS
ON THE MOTUROA FIELD. The manager of the Taranaki Petroleum Company (iMr. L. Kent) reports that 1400 feet 8-inch casing has been put into No. 1 bore. Hard streaks of country are still ibeing met with, and are delaying drilling considerably. At No. 3 "well 500 feet of the 4-inch casing has been put in. Each. time, a length, is lowered, oil is forced up between this and the 5-inch casing. There is no change at No. 2 bore, where oil continues to flow ilyAll the necessary documents in connection with the company's properties were yesterday deposited with the Bank of New Zealand, and will be forwarded to London toy next mail.
