' NATIONAL BANK PURCHASE SITE. By Telegraph.—Press Association, ! Palmerston N., Last Night. The National Bank of New Zealand has purchased Copelands'- Comer at the corner of Cuba and Rangitekei Streets, with 132 feet frontage to Cuba St., and 40 feet to Rangitekei St., for £BOOO. The purchase was made from Mr; Percy McHardy, who about four years ago purchased it from Messrs. Copelands' at, £7OOO. ! THE SHEARING TROUBLE. Christchurch, Last Night. After a considerable amount of negotiations a forward move has been made in the direction or arriving at a settlement of the dispute between the Canterbury Sheep-owners Industrial Union of Employers and the Canterbury branch of the Shearers' Union. Mr. Triggs (Conciliation Commissioner for Canterbury and Otago) has received a communication from the Minister of Labour, agreeing to Mr. Trigg's suggestion that three conciliation commissioners of the Dominion (Messrs, Hally, Giles and Triggs) shall take evidence in the dispute and forward it to the Arbitration Court, for that tribninal to base its award upon. Representatives of both parties to the- dispute have signed an undertaking to abide by the award of the Court in the matter. The three Conciliation Commissioners will sit in! Christchurch to take evidence on Sep-] tember 13th.
