DIVORCE COURT
AN ABANDONED DEFENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In camera to-day, Mr. Justice Chapman granted a decree nisi in the divorce case of Lillian May Nicol, of Rona Bay, v. Arthur Charles Nicol, of Martinborough. Mr. Wilford appeared for the petitioner, the grounds of whose applications were: (1) drunkenness on the part of her husband; and (2) his failure to maintain her. Costs were allowed on the highest scale, and His Honour granted aa interim order giving the wife the custody of the three children. A jury had been summoned to hear the case, but the defence was abandoned. !
