The Federation was represented by Messrs.. Semple, Hickey, Glover and Webb, and the Trades Councils by Messrs. Breen, Whiting, and Young, ana the Hon. J. T. Paul. Mr. J. A. McCullough presided. The conference was not open to the 'Press. Before the proceedings closed, the chairman was authorised to inform the reporters that the conference was a harmonious one, but no definite result had been arrived at for the present.
