I Received August 24, 9.5 p.m. Sydney, August 24. The Carcase Butchers' Association discussed the slaughtermen's trouble. Two gentlemen acting as mediators submitted their case. After discussion, it was decided not to accept the terms proposed, and to await the decision of the Wageß Board. It is< stated that a number of the strikers' are going to New Zealand. AN AMPLICATION REFUSED. Received August 24, 9.5 p.m. Sydney, August 24. The Industrial Court refused the application of White, secretary of the Meat Packing Employees' Union, for leave to prosecute the indoor manager of the Sydney Meat Preserving Company for alleged breach of the Act in dismissing, an applicant without reasonable cause. The Court decided that a' prima facie case had ; not- been established

STRIKE OF FACTORY HANDS,

Owing to the dismissal of a youth, fifty others employed in Leigh's Canister Factory left work. Negotiations failed. Leigh states that the dismissal was necessary in the interests of discipline, and that it was l not his intention to reinstate any of the strikers. The police are guarding the factory.
