LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—lVcss Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The weather was mild and genial this morning, when the semi-fmals of the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Championship were fought out, but in the afternoon a stiff nor'-easter was again blowing. The result of the day's play leaves Miss Collins (Wellington) and Miss Wray (Manawatu) to fight out the championship final to-morrow afternoon. The following are'the results: — Miss Collins (Wellington) beat Miss Ashwell (Timaru) by 3 up and t to play, Miss Wray (Manawatu) beat Miss Bell (Wellington) by 7 up and tt to play. The driving competition was vvon by Miss Christie (169 yards), Miss Ashwell (107 yards) being- second, and Mrs Buckley (163 yards) third. j In the approaching and putting competition, two - balls had to be played,! '■one over the bunker. The competition was won by Miss Danderson in five, ibut nine competitors tied for second, place with 6 each. A second prize will be played for by these to-morrow. Competitors coming second were Miss Knubley, Mrs. Innes, Miss Theomin, Miss Warne, Miss Collins, Mrs. Lewis, Miss i Wilson, Mrs. Handyside, and Mis^, orrie '_,^"

THE STRATFORD CLUB. • 1 Stratford, Last Night. The final of the ladies' championship of the loeal Golf Club was played last week, when Miss Oribell' created a surprise by defeating her sister, Miss F. Orbell, who for the past three years has held the championship, by 8 up and 1 to play. In the play off in the men's bogey competition, A. Jones with 7 down beat F. --Uniacke 8 down.

A team of ladies went into New Plymouth to-day to meet the local golf team.
