IBy Cable—Press Association.—Copyright | Sydney, August 23. M. Bourdgis (Mayor of Port Vila, New Hebrides) added that, thianks to the pretext under which missionaries work, : n?e)y, false they are able to act in all security, he might almost say with the protection of their Governments. It was time to unmask these so-called men of God, who pursued the ruin of their fellow men under the guise of preaching to the natives. They were not only enemies of colonisation, but against the work of civilisation, preventing natives and Europeans coming together. We ask, he concluded, for tl|fe natives to be free to work with us. Mr. Martin, replying, said he was already convinced . that the labor question would be the most important one. Chinese w«re unsatisfactory, also Indians and Indo-Chinese.
