In fihe House of Representatives, in i the debate on the Note Issue Bill, Mr. 'Deakin claimed that in one respect the Bill was purely and simply a loan, and involved all the ordinary risks of loans, i •Mr. Fisher, Premier, declared he would ■not ask for any proceeds for Commonwealth expenditure, and would raise the investment in stocks. Mr. DeaTcin had no argument to urge against that course, and. added that Mr. Fisher's statement would be received with a great deal of relief throughout! Australia.
