EXTRAORDINARY OCCURRENCE. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Sydney, August 00. An extraordinary explosion took place nea;r Newcastle. Two laborers were working on the railway, and one struck his pick into the ground. A violent explosion followed, and both- were burled into the air and seriously injured. It is believed that an unexploded blasting charge had been left in the spot.
