RAIWAY FATALITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, August 19. Antonia Valetto, employed! .on the Hutt railway duplication works, was killed this morning through being run over by a truck containing spoil. A PAINFUL ACCIDENT. Tailiape, August 19. A shocking accident occurred yesterday at Irvine's . Mill, Turangaarere,. whereby a man named Selbv Burson had one hand torn off at the wrist. He was working with a log hauler on the side of a hill. His 'hat blew off, and he went to pick it up. He got somehow entangled with the steel hawser, which pulled 'has hand right off. He was taken to Wanganui Hospital. MINING FATALITY. Greymouth, Yesterday. The first serious accident at the North Brunner Colliery endied fatally this morning, Thos. lOompton, a recent arrival from Portsmouth, dying from the effects of being dragged by a runaway truck down tihe incline tramway, through the rope line breaking. Deceased was a member of tihe Grey Battalion Band, and won a side-drum competition at a recent contest. He will be accorded a military funeral to-morrow.
