AMUSEMENTS.
"AiLADIDIN." There was an excellent demand for seats at Collier's yesterday, when the plan was opened for the first and only production of J. C. Williamson's stupendous pantomime production "Aladdin," which is to bo staged at the Theatre Royal on Monday night next. A special feature of "Aladdin" is the musical numbers, of which probably the following are the mo(st popular:—PKttndly step this way" and "The top note" (Mr. Harry Phydora), "My Pyjama Girl" (Miss ! Bva'Moore), "Meet me where the lanterns glow," with electric light effects, and "Dear Motherland," assisted by the Boy Scouts and the stupendous electric flag effect, and "Rings on her fingers" (Miss Marie Baton), "Months and months and months" (Mr. J. M. Campbell), "Just a love for someone," sung in the balloon (Miss Nance Maher), ' 'Can't you pee I love" ;(Misses Eva Moore and Marie iEabon), "Hurroo and Hurrah" (Mr. Rlupert Campbell), "The shadow of the pyramids" (Miss Lena Ericaon). The music for the "fire >bajlet" was composed by Mr. Andrew McCumn, and that for the "grand march of the flowers" Iby Mr. Harold Carr. One of the finest stage pictures yet presented in a pantomime is said to be the grand crysanthemum fete, the last scene in'tne production. It pTesenta quite an army of girls marching in carrying hage flowers, which make a magnificent show on the massed stage. The transformation scenes are rapid, ranging from a street scene in Japan, with the quaintly gabled houses, the characteristic dress of the people, and the jinrisfosha in which the widow Twanikey makes her cheerful entry to the jewel cave, where "Aladdin" discovers his famous lamp, to the widow's shop, and to "Aladdin's palace. There are fourteen scenes in all, so that the mechanical staff are kept hard at it throughout the performance. ~
