LAND BALLOT.
CHALLENGE TO MR. HINE, M.P. Messrs. J. Heslop and J. McChiggage, two nominated members of the Taranaki Land Board, have issued a challenge to Mr. Hine, M.P., as follows: H Mr. Hine, M.P., can prove his statement as published in Hansard No. 2 during his speech on the financial statement: "In Taranaki applicant* have been refused admission to the land, ballots because Oiev were not in possession of £500," we will forfeit £lO tfl ';.' the funds of the Stratford Hospital, provided Mr. Hine will forfeit a similar amount to the same institution if '«• cannot. This applies to the direct charge and not to any side issues.
